Pressable is a shared hosting company (they also do have cloud options) that is focused on providing customers with good WordPress hosting. Since WordPress is the most popular content management system on the web today, some hosting companies are offering hosting focused on this CMS. This can be very helpful, especially for customers who don’t want to deal with the hosting side of things and just want to work on their site.
They have been in business since 2010 and are based in Texas. They started out as “ZippyKid” but then rebranded as Pressable in 2013. While the company is quite small, they do offer their services to a lot of customers and have been building a good reputation so far.
They really don’t talk much about uptime on their site. They use good hardware and are housed in a nice facility though. Also, since they manage all your back end options it is much less likely that there will be an outage caused by user error. Looking at what current and former customers have said, it seems that uptime and reliability won’t be an issue.
When you look at their features you will find that they are quite different than most hosting companies. Of course, since they are focused only on WordPress sites, that has something to do with it. They do have limits on their hosting packages, but the limits are based on the number of sites you can host and the number of total page views you get. I’ve actually never seen a hosting company put limits on page views, so this is quite weird.
You do get some nice options through. They will, for example, handle your WordPress updates and security. They will set up the caching for your site for faster load times and even provide malware scanning and removal. Essentially you’re paying for their expertise in WordPress so you can just focus on publishing your content.
This is where the company really sells itself. They will handle all your support and things like that so you don’t have to worry about it. This really is more than just support since they manage upgrades and all that type of thing.
Their prices seem high to me, but since their services are unique it is hard to say for sure. The entry level option is $20.83 per month and that allows up to 5 sites with a total of 15,000 pageviews. It is important to keep in mind that what you’re paying for here is the ‘white glove’ service where they handle all your back end management so you can just focus on your site. This is worth a lot to many people, in which case the prices are very reasonable.
They also offer two ‘high end’ options, but they are priced really high. They are cloud based solutions and allow for 1 million + page views per month. These two options are $750 and $3500 per month, which seems way too high.
This company is focused on WordPress hosting so if you don’t use WordPress or think that you might move away from them at some point, this is not the company for you. If, however, you like WordPress and you are tired of trying to manage things like upgrades and other ‘back end’ items, this company might offer you exactly what you need.
