During May, Convesio:
Launched in 2018 by professional product developer Tom Fanelli, Convsio has become one of the best-managed WordPress hosting platforms. After 20 years of experience working with more than 500 companies, Fanelli focused on creating a custom-built site with no cPanel or groundbreaking server configuration.
Convesio’s mission is to change how WordPress hosts are viewed and managed. It offers innovative management tools, scalable infrastructure, fast and reliable service, high performance, automatic updates, and a free domain name with every purchase plan.
The company has even partnered with some of the leading providers of WordPress’s best edge performance and security, including Cloudflare, Human Presence, Patchman, and Redis. It’s designed to make the complex server setup a breeze, meaning it will help you deploy a WordPress site with a database cluster, load balancers, and a redundant file system in seconds.
Convesio sounds like a top-notch hosting on paper, but does it work perfectly in reality?
Welcome to Convesio’s home page! As soon as you enter, you will see the following screen!

When you open their
, you’ll read that Convesio is designed for solving the scaling challenges of mission-critical WordPress sites. It has an auto-scaling feature so that when your website gets a lot of traffic, its auto-scaling system will automatically deploy multiple containers to handle the load without going down.As mentioned above, Convesio is powered by Docker, a container-based platform that provides accurate elastic scaling for WordPress. And the significant part is that it doesn’t require DevOps.

Other information about Convesio that I immediately loved is that it won six awards in 2021: the easiest to use, Best support, Higher user adoption, High performer, almost effortless setup, and most accessible to do business with. Not going to lie; knowing this fact sure raised my expectations!

Convesio’s plans are divided into Starter, Business, and Enterprise. In terms of platform features, each plan has an easy-to-use dashboard, free SSL certificates, automatic backups, Dev&staging, build-in caching, scheduled backups, access rules, and the option to use WordPress under a minute.
Starter offers only one plan called the Starter or Level 1 plan.

Business offers three plans: Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4.

And last but not least, Enterprise offers Level 5, Level 6 and Level 7.

In the image below, you can see all the features the plans have to offer. My main focus will be the Starter plan. Therefore, the image will come in handy if you wish to get more information about all the plans and compare all they offer!

Convesio also offers WooCommerce hosting, which can help you handle large spikes in traffic so that your online shop doesn’t shut down when a crowd turns up.

There’s only one available plan for WooCommerce. It’s a complete package to host and support high-volume WooCommerce stores. The plan offers scales up to ten containers, choice of servers and database types, Cloudflare edge performance optimizations, advanced page speed optimization, 24/ monitoring and proactive resolution of issues, 24/7 priority support via chat, email, and a private Slack channel, managed WordPress security and optional professional services.
The time has come to do the purchasing. As you already know, I’m getting the cheapest plan Convesio has to offer: Starter or Level 1 plan. This plan will give me all I need to complete my task and show you whether Convesio is worth the money. I click on the Starter plan, scroll down and click on Get started.

Once I clicked on getting started, Convesio thanked me for my interest. The next thing I had to do was complete the form to set up my account.

As you can see from the image above, you have to type in general information such as the company’s name, personal name, phone, country, email, etc.
You can choose from a few options available: small business website, enterprise website, WooCommerce store, publish, e-learning platform, membership site, virtual event website, and client websites for my agency in the section named ‘What kind of websites are you looking to host.’
I chose a small business website. And just before submitting my order, I learned that Conesio offers a 30 days trial for the Starter plan as well. So, I decided to take a step back, not purchase anything, and try its plan without spending a dime.
Open Convesio’s Homepage, and on the upper right corner, you can see a button Trial. Click on that, and you’ll be transferred to the following screen.

The trial account includes two free trial sites, multiple data center locations, free essential migration support, before/after speed comparison, assisted onboarding, and 24/7 expert support.
Type in all the information, such as your full name, company’s name, work email, and password. Confirm that you are not a robot and finally sign up.

Once I received the email, I was ready to log in. I typed in my account name and password, and I was in. When I signed in, the first thing that I saw was Convesio’s Terms of service. Before you move any further, you have to agree to Convesio’s terms of services and then click accept.

And Voila! We’ve entered the world of Convesio. Now it’s time to explore.
You can create a site from the Homepage, get Help from WordPress experts to migrate a site, and access support and help documents.

The first thing I’m planning to do is to create a site. Convesio even says that my Dashboard looks lonely; let’s spice it up a bit.
Click on Create Your First Site, and you’ll see a window that says Create New WordPress Instance. First, you need to select your location. Next, you have three options available, and since I’m doing this from Macedonia, I chose Europe.

Next, if you click on Set Advanced Options, you can check out the environment setup: what WordPress version will be installed, the webserver type, and the PHP version. Click on Deploy to start the process.

I waited exactly 1 minute and 10 seconds for the setup to end. Once the setup is finished, you can see below that the status is complete. At last, click on Close Job Console.

Here’s how my HomePage looked right after creating the new WordPress Instance.

The name of my site appeared on my Home page, so now it’s time to manage it. If you click on Manage, you’ll get access to the site dashboard, log in to WP admin, you can visit the site directly, set your site’s name, and delete the site. Let’s see the Site Dashboard first.

When you access your Dashboard, you’ll see all the information related to your website. Everything is well presented, and it has everything you need to check out how your site is doing. You have data about serving requests, cluster load, disk usage, HTTP errors, and WP containers. Then you have data about traffic by HTTP response code, Data about your WordPress containers, your top 5 most visited pages, the top 5 slowest page load, and the top 5 HTTP error codes.

The Dashboard is fantastic, and it will give you a proper insight into how your website is working. You can also see a Domains button to add one or more domains for your site from this page. To add the domain, click on Add domain and create an “A record” for each LoadBalancer IP below.

The Security option on the Dashboard will allow you to add and manage SSL certificates for domains pointing to your site. You can get a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate by adding an SSL certificate here.

You can also access your WordPress and Load balancer logs from the Dashboard, and Backups will give you a proper insight into your backups.
If you click on Settings, you will get the chance to switch between different versions of PHP and Manage application status, which will allow you to restart or stop a site.

You can also access the SFTP, PHP settings, Autoscaling, Cache settings, and database settings through the Settings button.
Since I’m done with the Dashboard, I will log in to my WordPress admin.

Welcome to WordPress! It’s time to get started with the Dashboard. First, you have the option to customize your site or change the theme altogether. Then you can take the following steps, such as writing your first blog post, adding an about page, setting up your Homepage, managing widgets, managing menus, turning comments, and learning more about getting started.

On the Dashboard, you’ll also get an insight into your site’s health status, recent activities, and WordPress events and news. Everything is so well organized that you have the essential things pinned on the Dashboard for fast and easy access.
If you click on Posts, you’ll get access to all the posts; you’ll be able to add new posts, manage your posts into categories and add new tags.

The Media button will give you access to your media library. You also have the option to upload new media with just a click.

The Pages button will give you an insight into your pages and add new pages.

You can see all the comments left on your site by clicking on Comments. You also have the options to approve, unapproved, mark comments as inappropriate, and move them to trash.

You can easily customize your WordPress by clicking on Appearance. You can choose your theme, add widgets and customize nearly everything: colors, background images, menus, etc. I can freely say that you can style your WordPress as you imagine.

You can access your already installed plugins and add new ones when it comes to plugins. You have more than 50,000 plugins available to add to your plan. Choose the plugin you need, click on Install now, and you can get the plugin in just a couple of minutes.

The Users button will give you an insight into the users. You’ll be able also to add users if you wish. It’s a simple procedure to add a new user. You type in their username, email, first and last name and create a password for them. You can also choose the user’s role, a subscriber, contributor, author, editor, or administrator.

Since I’ll be the only username on my profile, it means that I’m not ready to give my administrative job just yet.
In the Tools section, you can convert your categories to tags or vice versa. WordPress can also import posts and comments from another system. You can import posts from a blogger blog; convert existing categories to tags; import posts from LiveJournal; import posts from a Movable-type or TypePad blog; import posts from an RSS feed; import media and posts from Tumblr; and import images, posts, custom fields, categories and tags from a WordPress export file.

You will also be able to export posts, pages, and media.

You’ll also get an insight into your site’s health export and erase personal data.
When it comes to settings, you get access to general settings, where you manage just about everything: writing, reading, discussion, media, permalinks, and privacy.
When I first discussed Convesio’s Homepage, I mentioned migrating a site. Let’s see how that works. I clicked on getting Help Migrating a Site. A couple of seconds later, I got to the Convesio Support center. The site migration is free, and if you’re not sure how to do it, you can ask for help from the support center or just click on Start the migration process here and start the process by yourself.

Their tech support was polite and explained everything I was asking. They even offer the option to contact them through Zoom and Slack, which will give you direct access to their team.
