Cyberfuel has been in business since 1997, and provides a number of great services to their customers. THey are located in the FORUM Office Park, which is also where major companies like HP, Western Union, Kraft and others are based. This is an ideal location in Costa Rica and has high quality network circuits coming in and out, which can help with overall uptime and reliability.
The company is well run and professional, which means that they will almost certainly be around long into the future to help provide you the services you need.
Uptime & Reliability
Very nice uptime
This company has a high quality data center, and seems to use only the best hardware, which will help to keep everyone up and running. As mentioned before, they are located in the FORUM office park, which has excellent security and other perks that will help avoid down time.
They also have active monitoring of their hardware and software, so if something does have a problem, they can often fix it before it actually goes down. I did not notice any uptime guarantees, but they really do have a good reputation for keeping their services up.
Features
Good features for small to mid sized companies
Cyberfuel offers both shared and VPS hosting options, which is more than enough for the vast majority of websites. They have quite a few different options within these categories. The basic hosting package starts out with 1 gig of disk space and 5 gigs of data transfer. This is higher than most other entry level packages.
They move up from there to options with as much as 12 gigs of disk space for their linux boxes. They do still limit you to 64 gig of bandwidth. All of this is on their shared hosting. If you move up to their VPS packages you will have more options to get exactly what you need. Even here, however, they don’t give you any unlimited options.
Support
Good quality support
They don’t talk too much about their support services on their website, which is unfortunate. Once I did a little digging I did find that they offer some great options. They even offer TeamViewer support, which means they can ‘connect’ to your computer and help troubleshoot directly. This is a great service that you will love if you ever run into trouble.
Pricing
Very nice pricing options
All their shared hosting options require that you pay up front for a year, but they are quite inexpensive so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem. The VPS plans are priced at or below what you would expect to pay based on the level of service you will get. The problem, however, is that all VPS options have a $29.99 setup fee.
Summary
Very nice hosting option
This is a great company to consider if you want to target South American customers. They are located in an ideal place to target people throughout the region, and even up into Mexico and the United States. They have a good reputation and their customers seem very happy with their services.
Pros:
- Excellent reputation
- High quality hardware
Cons:
- $29.99 setup fee for all their VPS packages
