Rating Breakdown
To evaluate IPRoyal, I applied our proxy review methodology, a structured framework used across all reviews in this series to ensure scores are consistent, fair, and based on real first-hand experience rather than marketing claims.
Here is how IPRoyal scored across every key parameter.
| Parameter | Score | Why This Score |
|---|---|---|
| Prices | 9.0/10 | Residential from $1.75/GB with non-expiring traffic is genuinely competitive. Datacenter from $1.39/proxy and ISP pay-as-you-go are both strong. |
| Proxy Pool & Coverage | 8.8/10 | 32M+ ethically sourced residential IPs across 195 countries, 500K+ ISP IPs, 4.5M+ mobile IPs. The pool is smaller than some enterprise competitors on the residential side. |
| Performance & Reliability | 9.0/10 | 99.9% uptime on the datacenter, 99%+ success rate on Web Unblocker confirmed by live support for standard scraping targets. |
| Ease of Use | 9.2/10 | Clean registration with Google and LinkedIn Sign-In. The onboarding quiz is a smart differentiator, actively recommending the right proxy type based on your use case. The dashboard is well-organized, with a built-in “Find the Perfect Proxy” widget. |
| Support | 9.0/10 | Live human agents available and responsive. Two agents (David and May) handled my query within minutes, with honest answers and appropriate escalation. The Lexi bot routing adds friction before reaching a human. |
| Overall | 9.0/10 | IPRoyal delivers competitive pricing, a well-built dashboard, genuinely useful onboarding tools, and honest support. |

Two pricing features set IPRoyal apart from most competitors:
- Non-expiring residential traffic. Most residential proxy plans reset unused bandwidth at the end of each billing cycle. IPRoyal’s traffic carries over indefinitely, so if you buy 10GB and only use 3GB this month, you still have 7GB left next month. For teams with variable scraping workloads, this eliminates the waste of losing unused data.
- Pay-as-you-go ISP proxies. Rather than committing to a fixed number of ISP proxies per month, IPRoyal charges per proxy used. Teams running occasional ISP-grade scraping jobs do not need to pre-buy a monthly allocation they may not fully use.
Payment Methods
At the Complete Order screen, IPRoyal accepts:
- Credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
- PayPal
- Google Pay
Payments are processed via Stripe, with “Guaranteed safe and secure checkout” confirmed at checkout. No hidden fees are listed in the order summary.

Performance
IPRoyal’s published performance figures are product-specific rather than a single headline number, which is the more honest approach.
Here is what the published specs and my support conversation confirmed.
Published Performance Metrics
| Product | Key Performance Metric |
|---|---|
| Datacenter Proxies | 99.9% uptime, unlimited bandwidth and sessions |
| Web Unblocker | 99%+ success rate on standard scraping targets |
| Mobile Proxies | Up to 100 Mbps, 5G/4G/3G networks |
| Residential Proxies | 32M+ IP pool, rotating and sticky sessions, non-expiring traffic |
| ISP Proxies | Datacenter-level speed with residential anonymity |
What Support Confirmed
During my support test, I asked directly about success rates and response times for web scraping use cases. David, the first live agent, confirmed a 99%+ success rate for Web Unblocker on standard scraping cases, specifically calling out ecommerce, travel, job boards, and sites using Cloudflare or similar anti-bot protection.
He was also honest that he did not have verified response time data available and escalated the conversation to May, a specialist.

May confirmed the same 99%+ success rate figure and was transparent that site-specific performance data for niche targets cannot be guaranteed without testing.
Their advice for a specific target was direct: test it first.
That kind of honest answer is worth more than a blanket guarantee. Providers that promise fixed success rates against any target are overpromising. IPRoyal’s support team drew an accurate line between what they can confirm and what depends on the target.
Ease of Use
I evaluated four things with IPRoyal: registration, the onboarding flow, the dashboard, and the checkout process. The onboarding flow, in particular, is one of the more thoughtful I have seen in this review series.
1. The Homepage and Registration
The IPRoyal homepage leads with a G2 rating badge and the TechRadar No. 1 Residential Proxy 2026 award prominently displayed before you even see the hero headline.

Clicking Create Account opens the registration page, which presents three ways to sign up:
- Sign up with Google
- Sign up with LinkedIn
- Manual form (first name, last name, email address, company name (optional), password)

LinkedIn Sign-In is unusual in this space and reflects IPRoyal’s positioning toward business and professional buyers. The manual form is clean, asking only what is needed.
After submitting, you are taken directly into the dashboard. However, the first screen you see is an email verification prompt: “Verify Your Email Address.

Click the button below to get your verification link sent to your inbox.” A single “Send me verification” button dispatches the email.
Once the link in your email is clicked, a confirmation screen reads “Your email successfully verified,” and a Go Home button takes you to the full dashboard.
2. The Onboarding Flow
Once inside the dashboard after verification, IPRoyal presents an onboarding quiz before showing you the full product view.
This is the most structured onboarding flow of any provider in this review series, and it is done well.
Step 1: “What will you use proxies for?”
Six use case options are presented as a card grid:
- Web Scraping
- SEO Monitoring
- Ad Verification / Social Media
- Bypassing Geo-restrictions
- Privacy and Anonymity
- Other
Selecting one moves the progress bar forward.

Step 2: SEO Monitoring Access Check
A URL input field appears with the prompt “Run a quick test to confirm access to your target site.” Example URLs are shown as chips (google.com, cnn.com, facebook.com, yahoo.com).

You can enter any URL and click Test Access to run a live check. This is a genuinely useful pre-purchase tool that lets you confirm IPRoyal can actually reach your intended target before you spend anything.
Step 3: Product Recommendation
Based on the use case and access test, IPRoyal presents a “Best Choice for SEO Monitoring” screen showing a recommended proxy type (Datacenter in my test), the starting price, a price level indicator, and a “Why it’s a match” list of specific reasons. Other suitable options are listed below the primary recommendation.

This three-step onboarding flow is one of the most practical approaches I have seen.
Rather than dropping you into a pricing grid and expecting you to figure out the right product, IPRoyal actively guides you to the correct choice based on your actual needs and target site.
It is a meaningful differentiator, especially for users new to proxies.
3. The Dashboard
After completing the onboarding quiz, the main dashboard home shows a clean six-card layout:
- Residential (from $1.75/GB): 32M+ ethical IPs across 195 countries, rotating and sticky sessions
- ISP (from $2.40/proxy): Premium ISP providers, unlimited sessions, state and city targeting
- Datacenter (from $1.39/proxy): 99.9% uptime, state and city targeting, unlimited sessions
- Mobile (from $10.11/day): Easy integration and API support, unlimited bandwidth and sessions, 5G/4G/3G/LTE
- Web Unblocker (from $0.70 per 1,000 requests): Smart anti-bot bypass, success-based billing, powered by 32M+ IP pool
- Find the Perfect Proxy in Under 60 Seconds: A persistent quiz card that re-runs the onboarding flow for users who want a recommendation rather than choosing themselves

The left sidebar organizes all navigation clearly:
- Home: The product card view
- My Orders: Active subscriptions and purchase history
- Proxies: Expandable to Residential, ISP, Datacenter, Mobile, and Web Unblocker
- Tools: Expandable to Browser Extensions, Proxy Tester, IP Lookup
- Help Center: Opens externally to a categorized article library
- Got a Suggestion?: Feedback channel direct to the product team
- Referral program: Visible in the sidebar for easy access
- Have a large project? Contact sales: Persistent panel at the bottom of the sidebar
The top navigation bar shows your current balance (“$0.00”), an Add Funds button, an Organizations dropdown for multi-team management, and your account email. A notification bell and network status indicators complete the header.
On an active Residential proxy account, the proxy management screen provides controls for Country/Region, City/State, Rotation mode (Randomize IP), and IP skipping, all on a single page.
The proxy hostname (geo.iproyal.com) and port are displayed immediately below for quick copy-paste integration.

4. Selecting a Product and Going to Checkout
Clicking Buy Now on any product card takes you to a product-specific order creation screen.
The Datacenter order page shows:
- A collapsible pricing and bundle discounts panel at the top
- Subscription details: plan duration (30, 60, or 90 days), proxy location, and number of proxies
- An “Add Another Country” option for multi-location orders
- An Extras section for add-extra-requirements (30% fee) and multi-device access (50% fee per device)
- A live Subscription Summary on the right showing the total before you proceed

Moving to the payment screen shows the full Complete Order layout with the payment method selector on the left and an itemized Subscription Summary on the right, showing product, payment option, GB amount, price per GB, volume discount percentage, subscription discount percentage, and final price per month.
Everything is visible before you confirm.
5. Proxy Management
With the purchase flow done, I wanted to understand how IPRoyal handles the day-to-day management side.
Account security is layered in a way you do not often see at this price point. Every login triggers an email verification code, and the dashboard also supports configuration with an authenticator app as a second factor.
Beyond that, you can view a full activity log, see all logged-in devices, and force-logout any session remotely. For teams where account security is a real concern rather than a checkbox, this is a meaningful level of control.
On team access, IPRoyal offers two separate structures:
- Dashboard users: You can invite others to access the dashboard. At the time of testing, these users do not have granular permission controls, meaning everyone invited gets the same level of access.
- Sub-users for residential proxies: A separate and more useful system that gives each sub-user their own credentials, usage statistics, and traffic allowance. This makes it possible to segment access by project or team member and track consumption independently.

The proxy setup widget handles residential proxy configuration. You choose your location filters, set your rotation preferences, and the widget generates a ready-to-use proxy list and automatically populated code samples.

You do not need to manually construct connection strings. For datacenter and ISP proxies, the experience is simpler. The dashboard displays your list of assigned IPs directly, since those products are static rather than configured per session.
Usage tracking on residential proxies is one of the more complete implementations reviewed.
It includes:
- A traffic expenditure graph with a free date range picker (start and end dates are fully configurable)
- Website-level filtering to see which targets consumed the most traffic
- A CSV report download that produces daily traffic use per target domain, requiring only a username and date range to generate

The CSV format is not the most convenient for quick inspection, but it is more thorough than the fixed-window graphs most providers offer. You can also set up email traffic reminders, which alert you when your balance reaches a defined threshold.
For teams running sustained scraping operations, this is a useful guardrail against unexpected overspend.
The API covers all proxy types, but with uneven depth:
- Residential: the most complete endpoint set, covering sub-user management, IP rotation, manual IP changes, proxy list retrieval, and location queries
- Datacenter and ISP: functional but less extensive
- Mobile: limited to viewing remaining balance and rotating an IP

Authentication uses an X-Access-Token header, retrieved from the Settings page inside the dashboard. The base URL is https://apid.iproyal.com/v1/reseller.
Documentation is hosted on GitBook and covers all proxy types with endpoint examples in cURL, PHP, Python, and Node.js.
One important note: the legacy API was deprecated in September 2025, so anyone migrating from an older integration needs to move to the current version.
A network status page is available outside the dashboard. It goes beyond a simple “all systems operational” indicator and breaks down the health of individual infrastructure components, which is useful for diagnosing whether a connectivity issue is on your end or theirs.

Proxy management verdict:
- The two-layer 2FA (email code plus authenticator app) and device activity tracking set a higher security baseline than most providers
- Sub-users for residential proxies are genuinely useful; dashboard user permissions being undifferentiated is the gap
- The widget generates code samples automatically, removing manual setup for residential configurations
- Usage tracking with a free date range, website-level filtering, and CSV export is the most flexible reporting reviewed
- The API is solid on residential but thin on mobile
- The network status page is more detailed than the industry standard
Overall ease of use verdict
IPRoyal has one of the most thoughtfully designed first-session experiences in this review series. The use case quiz, the live access test during onboarding, and the “Find the Perfect Proxy” widget on the dashboard home all reduce the guesswork that normally accompanies proxy product selection.
The dashboard is clean, the checkout is transparent, and the proxy management controls on an active account are practical and well-organized.
The email verification step and onboarding quiz add a few minutes to the first session, but both add genuine value.
Level of Support
IPRoyal provides support through the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of every dashboard page.
The widget homepage shows three options: Send us a message, a live network status indicator (“All Systems Operational”), and a Talk to Sales link. A Search for Help field with suggested articles also appears on the home tab.
The Help Center
Clicking Help Center in the left sidebar opens an external knowledge base with a search bar and categorized article sections, including General Information (23 articles), Billing and Pricing (16 articles), and Residential Proxies (21 articles).

The search is functional, and the categories cover the full product range.
The Chat Experience: Lexi
Clicking the chat widget and selecting Send us a message opens a conversation with Lexi, IPRoyal’s AI assistant bot.
I selected Live Chat as my intent, which triggered a structured routing flow:
- “Please select a topic or category” (I selected Proxies)
- “Please provide the order IDs” (I selected “I don’t have an order yet”)
- “For FAQs, explore the options below” (I selected Live Chat again)
- “Please select a topic or category” (I selected General)
- “General inquiry” option presented
- “Let us know what your inquiry is about” (I entered my performance question)
- “Please enter your email” (I entered my email)

After completing the routing flow, Lexi confirmed a live agent would respond shortly.
The routing flow is more layered than other providers tested in this series.
That said, the steps are clearly labeled and move quickly, and the structured approach means agents receive full context before the conversation begins.
The Human Response: David and May
David joined within minutes and opened warmly: “Hi! Thanks for reaching out. I understand how important this is, and I’ll do my best to assist you as quickly as possible.”
He asked a sensible follow-up question to clarify which product I was asking about (Web Unblocker vs residential proxies for web scraping).
When I specified my target, he confirmed:
- Web Unblocker delivers 99%+ success rate for standard scraping cases including ecommerce, travel, job boards, and sites using Cloudflare or similar anti-bot protections
- Web Unblocker automatically rotates IPs, skips problematic IPs, and retries failed requests
- He did not have verified response time data for my specific target and offered to escalate

He then transferred to May, described as a specialist for deeper investigation.
May confirmed the 99%+ success rate for standard cases and was transparent that performance on niche or less-common targets cannot be guaranteed without live testing. Her recommendation was to test the specific target directly.

My Verdict on Support
IPRoyal’s support experience delivered honest, specific answers with appropriate escalation. Key observations:
- Human agents joined quickly after the bot routing was complete
- David’s initial answer was specific rather than generic, citing which types of sites qualify for the 99%+ claim
- Escalation to May happened cleanly, with May reviewing the full conversation before responding
- Both agents were transparent about what they could and could not confirm, which is more valuable than an overconfident blanket guarantee
- The Lexi bot routing is the most layered of any provider tested, requiring more topic selections before reaching a human than competitors
- The All Systems Operational status badge in the chat widget is a useful trust signal, surfacing infrastructure health without the user needing to visit a separate status page
Conclusion: Do We Recommend IPRoyal?
Yes, for both individual users and business teams.
IPRoyal has built a product that earns its TechRadar No. 1 Residential Proxy 2026 ranking through a combination of competitive pricing, genuinely useful tooling, and an onboarding experience that actively helps users make the right product choice before they spend anything.
Here is what makes IPRoyal stand out:
- Non-expiring residential traffic is a real financial differentiator for teams with variable workloads
- Pay-as-you-go ISP proxies remove the risk of over-committing to a fixed monthly allocation
- The onboarding quiz with a live target access test is one of the most practical pre-purchase tools in this review series
- The built-in Proxy Tester, Proxy Checker, and WebRTC Leak Test add genuine utility beyond the core proxy product
- Support agents are honest, specific, and willing to escalate rather than overpromise
Where IPRoyal falls short for some users:
- Mobile proxy pricing at $117/month is among the higher entry points in this space
- SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications are in progress rather than completed, which may matter for compliance-sensitive buyers
- The Lexi bot routing requires more steps than most competitors before reaching a live agent
For anyone building a web scraping operation, running SEO monitoring, or managing data collection at scale, IPRoyal offers a well-priced, well-tooled, and honestly supported platform that is worth putting at the top of your shortlist.
