Domain Plus is based in Malaysia and focused on providing shared hosting solutions to their customers. They have been around for quite a while and seem to do a fairly good job with the services they offer. There have been some issues with outages with the company, and they only have a 99.5% uptime track record which is not all that great compared to many other hosting companies. While there is no way to know for sure, it seems like they likely oversell their servers which would cause slow response times and possible down time for the customers. Based on what I have read their customers saying, this is the most likely reason.
This company is not well known for their reliable services. They have a 99% uptime guarantee, which is well below the 99.9% most companies provide today. They also claim that they have a 99.5% uptime average for the company. While this is above the 99% guarantee they offer, it is still not a very good uptime record at all and it doesn’t even make sense that they are promoting this number as if it were a positive thing. When looking through social media and other items I did see some people complaining about the downtime they experienced.
The features with this company are somewhat restrictive in some places, but not bad at all in other areas. The lowest level hosting, which is actually free, only provides you with 100 megs of disk space and 1 email account. This option is obviously for people who just want very simple hosting for a personal blog or something like that. When you move up to higher level options you’ll get much more disk space and bandwidth, all the way up to unlimited for the highest end solution.
They also offer cPanel, which is very popular. The softaculous program allows you to quickly install any number of scripts to get your stie up and running. In addition, they have Fantastico DeLuxe, which is another auto install program so you can basically have any script run in just moments from your cPanel. This makes it really easy to get everything up and running quickly and easily. Through all their shared hosting options they list a 99% uptime guarantee, which is not very good. They do have an offsite backup available for most of the packages too, so that is a nice feature.
The support from this company looks like it will be pretty good. you can contact them via email or a ticket system and from what I can tell they will get back with you quickly. This is important since they have that reputation for downtime issues. In addition to the direct contact options, they also have a nice knowledge base and blog that will provide you with some valuable information to benefit your overall hosting experience.
All the prices are listed in the local currency, but if you convert them to dollars the prices aren’t bad. They list everything on an annual basis so that makes it a little harder to figure out at first as well. One really nice thing is that their entry level shared hosting option is completely free. This is perfect for anyone who just wants the most basic hosting around for a small personal site or something like that.
If you’re looking for free hosting, this company has a great option that is likely to be better than most other options out there. For their paid hosting options, however, they have some issues with speed and reliability. The features aren’t bad, and the price is fairly low still, but unless stability is not a concern for you, there are better options out there to consider.
