⭐ 1/5 Stars — Months of Problems, a Privacy Violation They Admitted To, and Zero Accountability
I was a paying customer of Space Hosting, operating
... multiple dedicated servers for a large ARK: Survival Ascended gaming community. I invested thousands of dollars into keeping those servers running, trusting this company to provide reliable hosting and professional support.
That trust was a mistake.
Over the course of several months, I experienced repeated server problems, extended downtime, account access issues, and support responses that often took far too long. At one point, one of my servers was inaccessible for over two weeks. Despite the impact on my community, Space Hosting refused to provide compensation, maintaining that the problem was related to Windows rather than their hardware.
But the server problems weren't even the worst part.
My hosting account was compromised, and someone changed my account information without my authorization. I spent days trying to regain access to servers I had paid for. Space Hosting required extensive verification and proof of payment before restoring my account.
Then came something I never expected.
Space Hosting disclosed my name and confirmed my account ownership to a third party involved in the account dispute.
I did not authorize this disclosure.
When I confronted Space Hosting, they admitted in writing that the disclosure should never have happened. They apologized and told me they had changed their internal procedures.
Unfortunately, the information was subsequently circulated publicly in my gaming community alongside accusations against me.
After months of problems, my community had effectively fallen apart, and I made the difficult decision to close my servers.
I requested reimbursement for the unused prepaid hosting time and the remaining credit on my account.
Space Hosting terminated all four of my servers on October 28, 2026, even though three were paid through January 7, 2027, and the fourth through December 11, 2026.
They refused to refund any unused prepaid hosting time and confirmed they would retain €457.62 in unused account credit.
Their explanation? Their Terms of Service say those payments are nonrefundable.
I understand that companies have policies. What I cannot understand is how a company can acknowledge mishandling a customer's personal information, provide months of frustrating service, and then take absolutely no financial responsibility for the situation.
Instead, I received apologies, explanations, and repeated references to their Terms of Service.
An apology does not undo the disclosure of someone's personal information. And pointing to a refund policy does not make the customer's experience acceptable.
I am now pursuing the appropriate avenues for an independent review of the privacy incident.
I operated four dedicated servers with this company. I paid my bills, cooperated with their verification requirements, and repeatedly tried to resolve these issues privately.
After everything that happened, I walked away without my servers, without reimbursement, and with serious concerns about how this company handles customer information.
If you're considering Space Hosting, please research their support practices, account security procedures, and refund policies before committing significant money to their services.
I wish someone had warned me before I invested so much time and money into this company.
My experience with Space Hosting was one of the most disappointing customer experiences I've ever had. I would not recommend them.
